Welcome to Computed Tomography (CT) at Wake Tech
The Certificate in CT is directed toward the preparation of graduates who competently fulfill the professional roles as a member within the discipline of CT. The Computed Tomography Technology curriculum, a specialty for registered or registry- eligible radiologic technologist, radiation therapist, or nuclear medicine technologist, prepares the individual to use specialized equipment to visualize cross-sectional anatomical structures and aid physicians in the demonstration of pathologies and disease processes.
Course work prepares the technologist to provide patient care and perform studies utilizing imaging equipment, professional communication, and quality assurance in scheduled and emergency procedures through academic and clinical studies.
Graduates may be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Advanced-Level testing in Computed Tomography examination. They may find employment in facilities which perform these imaging procedures.
Education is a dynamic, life-long process of developing insights, acquiring knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, and beliefs. Students are involved in this process as adult learners and assume responsibility for their own learning. The learner is viewed as an active participant in a setting, which fosters caring, creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, and professionalism. Cognitive, psychomotor and affective learning domains are integrated throughout the educational process.
